A hearing on the license application for Vixens will be Wednesday at 6 p. Stephen St. Several women, some of whom identified themselves as employees or former employees of exotic-dance clubs, club owner Jerry Hamman, his attorney and others urged the West Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Administration to issue the licenses for Taboo at 18 Royal Crest Drive near Martinsburg, as well as Vixens Gentlemen's Club at Winchester Ave.
In the four years I have been going to these clubs, I've not seen none of these people getting DUIs or drug problems, either. A longtime club employee also presented state alcohol-control spokesman Gary "Gig" Robinson with a folder containing signatures of people who favor the private-club applications. After quickly reviewing the petitions, Robinson said that addresses weren't attached to the signatures, and a number of them couldn't be verified because they are not legible.
